How to Delete All Spam Comments in WordPress Instantly (Even When They’re Already Approved)

After having my sites attacked by spam bots, I had a problem. Google thought my sites were malicious and had blacklisted me. I got together with my web host/tech guru, who helped me by essentially gutting the sites and allowing me to start over from the bottom up, but since I didn’t want to lose my content, there was an additional concern. It seemed that, at least on some of the sites, I had thousands of already-approved spam comments, and they were causing issues with my hosting service. If you have WordPress, you know that the standard issue CMS doesn’t allow for bulk deletion of already-approved comments. Continue Reading →

In addition to picking up some new clients, I’ve resumed my post as the St. Louis Family & Parenting Examiner and picked up a couple of new titles, including St. Louis Celebrity Headlines Examiner and National Crime Examiner. Change is, once again, in the air. I said farewell to my friends at Scrubs & Suits late last year when my contract ended. And more recently, I said farewell to my friends at Patch when that one ended. Continue Reading →

Updates: New Opportunities Ahead!

I have been so busy that I haven’t done an official career update since June, so here’s what’s been happening. Scrubs & Suits

I am no longer working with Scrubs & Suits. While I thoroughly enjoyed the job and still enjoy writing about the healthcare industry, the site’s investor couldn’t continue spending the money since we were unable to find a dedicated sales person. I wish the client the best as he moves forward with the site on his own. Patch.com

For now, I am still working with Patch.com part-time. Continue Reading →

Hackers and Bots: Why I've Moved to a New Domain

I’ve owned AngelaAtkinson.com since 2005 and have always used it as my primary business and portfolio site. Recently, someone or some thing decided that it would begin attacking my domain repeatedly, causing all of my sites (at least those with this particular web host) to be taken down, over and over again. It was costing me money, time and peace. Today, my favorite web guy suggested that I get this domain–AngelaAtkinson.me–and use it in the meantime while we figure out how to fix the hacker. So, here I am! Continue Reading →
